The Empowerment Initiative For Women And Youth Uganda (EIWYU) is a non-profit, voluntary organization committed to providing a platform for the inspiration and empowerment of women and youth in Nsambya Parish, Makindye Division Kampala district and beyond through promoting opportunities to support, empowering, connect and grow women and youth in daily income generating activities / projects / business, through lobbying, mentoring, networking, strategic alliances, and developing and recognizing excellence in women and youth World over.

The organization aims to be a united, non-racial, non religious projects organization that helps women and youth to create employment opportunities and connections on multiple dimensions - personal, professional and projects / business - throughout their career.

It acts as a lobby group on women's and youth’s projects / business issues, highlighting and publicizing not only the barriers to success that may still exist but also the many opportunities available to women and youth in Uganda today.

EIWYU commits itself to the economic empowerment of women and youth in line with the principles espoused in Uganda’ transformation agenda.

Laetitia Rachel Mugerwa is a Ugandan Scholar and Human Rights activist with special interest in women and youth empowerment, born in Katwe a Kampala slum.

For many years Laetitia has pursued Education and Professional experience that lay the ground work for her to make a meaningful and substantial contribution to the people of Uganda especially in the rural and slum areas.
